Miley Cyrus is having the kind of year that turns a pop star into a legend. With the release of her ninth studio album, Something Beautiful, a record that’s already being hailed as one of the most ambitious projects of her career, Cyrus just added another milestone to an already packed 2025: she’s getting her own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

The announcement came from the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, and while a star on the Walk is a long-standing rite of passage for industry icons, the timing couldn’t be more poetic. One of the standout tracks from Something Beautiful is an anthemic number titled “Walk of Fame”, a track that now feels like a premonition and a personal prophecy fulfilled. On Instagram, Cyrus marked the moment with a heartfelt post, sharing a childhood memory that puts her latest achievement in perspective.

“Honored to be receiving a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame,” she wrote, captioning a clip from the “Walk of Fame” music video, which features Brittany Howard and is shot on location across Hollywood’s most iconic sidewalks. “When I first came to LA from Nashville as a little girl, my family would stay at a hotel on Hollywood Blvd, and I would go on late night walks with my dad when no one would recognize him. We’d have the gift shops to ourselves & buy knock off Oscars and Marilyn Monroe merchandise. To now be cemented on this legendary boulevard, surrounded by the icons who inspired me, feels like a dream.”

“To now be cemented on this legendary boulevard, surrounded by the icons who inspired me, feels like a dream,” she continued. “This moment will live forever, thank you to everyone in my life who made it possible. I am grateful to share this star with you.”

It’s the kind of full-circle moment that only adds depth to the layered themes in Something Beautiful, an album that, as Rolling Stone's Rob Sheffield put it, “finds Miley keeping her chin up and looking on the positive side, even in times of trouble.” That spirit of resilience pulses through every track on the album, blending Californian glam with a more introspective, pop wisdom.

The unpredictability is what’s kept Miley relevant across generations, from her Hannah Montana days to Plastic Hearts and now Something Beautiful. In an era where reinvention can feel more like marketing than transformation, Cyrus’ evolution has always felt authentic.

Miley Cyrus remains active both musically and on screen. She recently filmed a companion piece to Something Beautiful, set to premiere July 16 on Disney+ and Hulu. In late June, Cyrus also shared another track, “Every Girl You’ve Ever Loved,” a collaboration with Naomi Campbell, with a limited vinyl release scheduled for July 11. She’s also appeared at several key events, including a Spotify Billions Club Live performance in Paris and a screening of the visual album at the Tribeca Festival.
