Sabrina Carpenter Leads 2025 Kids’ Choice Awards

Sabrina Carpenter led the 2025 Kids’ Choice Awards with three major wins—Favorite Female Breakout Artist, Favorite Album for Short n’ Sweet, and Favorite Song for “Taste,” which peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100. The honors capped a milestone year for Carpenter, whose album also won a Grammy for Best Pop Vocal Album and topped the Billboard 200 for four weeks. The ceremony, broadcast live from Santa Monica’s Barker Hangar on June 21, was hosted by South African artist Tyla, who delivered a polished, high-energy performance and closed the show with Nickelodeon’s signature slime moment. Tyla was also named Favorite Global Music Star, underscoring her growing international recognition.

SZA took home two awards at the 2025 Kids’ Choice Awards, winning Favorite Female Artist and Favorite Music Collaboration for “Luther,” her hit with Kendrick Lamar that held the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 for over three months. Ariana Grande also received two honors for her performance as Glinda in Wicked, earning Favorite Movie ActressFavorite Song from a Movie for “Defying Gravity,” her duet with Cynthia Erivo. The film, one of the year’s biggest box office successes, was also named Favorite Movie.

Jack Black was recognized for both his current work and enduring influence, winning Favorite Movie Actor for A Minecraft Movie and receiving the King of Comedy award in a tribute presented by his Nacho Libre co-stars Ana de la Reguera and Héctor Jiménez. The show also featured performances from Machine Gun Kelly, who premiered his new single “cliché” with an introduction from his daughter Casie Baker, and KATSEYE, who performed “Gnarly” from their upcoming EP Beautiful Chaos, introduced by Ice Spice. Both sets concluded with the show’s signature slime moment.
