Authorities in Palm Beach County are investigating a home-invasion robbery that unfolded at Tekashi 6ix9ine’s Florida residence Sunday night, an incident that occurred while the rapper was away filming a livestream. According to a statement provided to Rolling Stone by the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, four masked and armed individuals entered the property shortly before 10 p.m. local time, confronting people inside and restraining the rapper’s mother.

Deputies responded to a 911 call reporting an active burglary at the residence. Upon arrival, officers spoke with multiple witnesses who said the assailants forced their way inside while brandishing handguns. The suspects allegedly separated Hernandez’s mother from the others present, holding her under watch while additional intruders searched the home. Witnesses told authorities the men demanded cash, valuables, and car keys before moving through the property.

Surveillance footage obtained by TMZ appears to show masked individuals roaming through the home and monitoring Hernandez’s mother during the incident. It remains unclear what, if anything, was stolen. The sheriff’s office said a K-9 search was conducted but yielded no results, adding that investigators believe the suspects fled the area in a vehicle before deputies arrived. No arrests have been made, and the investigation remains ongoing.

Tekashi 6ix9ine, born Daniel Hernandez, was not at home during the break-in. The rapper later addressed the situation in a video posted to Instagram Stories, noting that the incident happened during a rare occasion in which he had received permission to leave the property for work while serving a house-arrest sentence. Hernandez has been on home confinement since September, after authorities alleged he violated probation terms following an altercation at a Florida mall.

In the Instagram video, Hernandez suggested the perpetrators may have acted after realizing he was not home. He referenced his livestream with YouTuber Jack Doherty, which was broadcast during the same window as the break-in. “People saw that I was on a livestream… They took that opportunity,” he said, adding that he believed the situation was intensified because of his notoriety. “If this happened to your favorite artist or actor, it wouldn’t be seen as some kind of achievement.”

The robbery marks the latest development in a turbulent period for Hernandez, who has cycled in and out of legal trouble since his 2018 racketeering case. The rapper, who became a polarizing figure through both his music and public persona, has continued to face scrutiny as he navigates probation restrictions, recurring physical confrontations, and ongoing disputes with law enforcement.

Authorities have not disclosed additional details about the individuals present at the home when the break-in occurred, nor have they commented on the specific condition of Hernandez’s mother after the incident. The sheriff’s office emphasized that the case is active and that investigators are reviewing available evidence, including surveillance footage and witness statements.

Hernandez did not provide further updates beyond his initial social-media remarks, and his representatives have not issued an official statement. As of now, police have not identified suspects, and the sheriff’s office is asking anyone with information to contact investigators.
