Following the cancellation of the 2025 Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival due to severe flooding, organizers have officially announced that the beloved event will return to Manchester, Tennessee, in 2026. The festival is now scheduled for June 11–14, with a renewed focus on weather resilience and campground improvements.

In a statement released Thursday, Bonnaroo organizers confirmed the festival’s comeback and outlined a series of structural and logistical changes designed to prevent the kind of site damage and cancellations that plagued this year’s event. “We’ve been taking your feedback to heart over the past few weeks as we plan improvements and talk about what’s next for the festival,” organizers said. “And now, it’s time to share those plans with you.”

Among the most significant updates is the removal of campsite areas most vulnerable to flooding. These zones, identified after this year’s rains inundated parts of the grounds, will be eliminated entirely in 2026. This decision is expected to reduce the overall capacity of the campgrounds, but organizers have framed the change as an opportunity: “More dancing space,” they noted.

Bonnaroo will also move up its camping entry date by one day. In an effort to reduce long lines and congestion that typically occur during Thursday arrivals, camping check-in will now begin on Wednesday. This logistical adjustment is meant to improve the flow of attendees into the festival, allowing for a more relaxed and organized experience at the onset.

This is not the first time Bonnaroo has grappled with extreme weather. In 2021, remnants of Hurricane Ida forced the festival’s cancellation, prompting organizers to begin a multi-million-dollar overhaul of the site’s drainage systems and land management. However, this year’s torrential rain revealed that the original upgrades were not yet sufficient to handle sustained severe weather. As a result, the upcoming off-season will see an even larger investment in infrastructure.

“In the 2025/2026 off-season, we’ll be dedicating an additional multi-million-dollar budget and initiating improvements that prioritize the campgrounds and other areas affected by the extreme weather in 2025,” organizers said. Planned updates include reseeding portions of the property, expanding access roads within the campgrounds, and adding new drainage systems while reinforcing existing water runoff pathways.

Some fans had speculated whether Bonnaroo might consider shifting to a different time of year to avoid future weather-related risks. But after consulting meteorologists, organizers decided to stick with their traditional June dates, which they still consider to be the most viable window for hosting the festival.

When Bonnaroo returns in 2026, organizers plan to open the weekend with a “welcome party” on Thursday night at the What Stage, a celebratory kickoff aimed at honoring both the resilience of the community and the legacy of the Farm itself.
