Fifth Harmony, one of the most successful girl groups of the 2010s, stunned fans in Dallas on Sunday night by reuniting for the first time in seven years. The four remaining members made by Normani, Ally Brooke, Dinah Jane, and Lauren Jauregui, appeared during the Jonas Brothers’ Jonas20: Greetings From Your Hometown tour stop, igniting a wave of nostalgia and speculation about what comes next for the group.
The moment unfolded with theatrical flair. As smoke filled the stage, the women emerged in coordinated black outfits and launched into their 2015 hit “Worth It,” complete with synchronized choreography. They followed it with their biggest single, “Work From Home,” as the arena erupted in cheers. When the song ended, Nick, Kevin, and Joe Jonas joined them onstage, embracing each of the members as the audience roared. Adding to the anticipation, Fifth Harmony also revealed a refreshed group logo during the appearance.
The reunion arrives after years of speculation about the group’s possible return. Fans had been watching closely as Fifth Harmony’s catalog experienced a resurgence on TikTok, with both “Work From Home” and “All in My Head (Flex)” finding new audiences. Although Rolling Stone dismissed reunion rumors in 2024, recent activity on social media suggested otherwise.
Earlier on Sunday, the group’s long-dormant official X (formerly Twitter) account reactivated, posting “#FifthHarmonyFollowSpree.” Dinah Jane added fuel to the excitement with an Instagram post reading, “The impossible is possible. Full of gratitude today.” The group’s official website was also updated, now featuring the words “coming soon.”
While Camila Cabello, who departed the group in 2016 to pursue a solo career, was not present, her absence was not a snub. Cabello had a solo performance in Sydney the previous night and could not attend. Still, the four-piece appearance represents the first official stage reunion since Fifth Harmony announced an indefinite hiatus in 2018.
The surprise did not come out of nowhere. In recent years, members of the group have shown signs of renewed closeness. In late 2024, Ally Brooke joined Dinah Jane onstage in Los Angeles to sing “Better Together,” and the pair also recorded a holiday duet. “We hadn’t seen each other in five years, and it was like we didn’t ever leave,” Brooke told Rolling Stone in December 2023 when reflecting on their collaboration.
Jane echoed the sentiment, saying, “Music is very healing. Collaborating again and starting from scratch would be a very big healer as well. This planted the seed for us.” The women have also continued to publicly support one another: in 2022, all five members celebrated the group’s 10th anniversary online, and last year they collectively congratulated Normani on the release of her debut solo album. Even Cabello has shown affection, recently posting a video of herself dancing to “Work From Home” with the K-pop-inspired girl group Katseye.
Fifth Harmony first came together in 2012 on The X Factor USA. Though they finished third in the competition, the group quickly rose to prominence. Their debut album, Reflection, released in 2015, spawned hits such as “Sledgehammer” and “Worth It.” The following year, they solidified their place in pop with 7/27, an album anchored by “Work From Home,” which became one of the defining songs of the decade.
The Jonas Brothers’ current tour has become known for its high-profile guest appearances, and Fifth Harmony’s return may be the most headline-grabbing cameo yet. Since the tour kicked off on August 10 in New Jersey, the brothers have invited acts ranging from Demi Lovato and Jesse McCartney to All Time Low and JoJo. Several shows, including the Dallas concert, are being streamed live on Samsung TV Plus, ensuring that Fifth Harmony’s reunion reached fans beyond the arena.
