Glastonbury 2025: Olivia Rodrigo Delivers One of the Weekend’s Best Sets

Olivia Rodrigo has sung about heartbreak on suburban streets and screamed into bedroom walls, but on Sunday night, she stood in front of tens of thousands at Glastonbury’s Pyramid Stage and made it feel just as intimate. At only 22, the pop star headlined one of the most iconic stages in music, and instead of treating it like a coronation, she treated it like a conversation. “This is a dream come true,” she told the crowd early on. “Holy f-cking sh-t, this is the most people I’ve ever seen in my entire life.”
At some point in the set, she shared a wholesome story: “I was falling in love with this boy from London,” she said, introducing “So American.” She spoke about cultural quirks, language differences, and the way he teased her for pronouncing “Glastonbury” with an American accent, “Glaston-berry” instead of “Glaston-bree.” That boy, of course, is British actor Louis Partridge, and later that night, Rodrigo turned the inside joke into a digital wink, commenting on his Instagram post with a simple “glastonBERRY ilysm.”
Partridge, who stars in Disclaimer, had quietly paid tribute to her performance, writing: “She worked her a-s off for it and couldn’t be more deserving of all her success and for the great crowd that was watching.”
Beyond the personal moments and crowd engagement, Rodrigo’s Glastonbury set was widely seen as a success for fans, critics, and the artist herself. Several outlets named it the best set of the weekend, pointing to the clarity of her performance and her ability to connect without relying on spectacle.
A key moment in the set came when Robert Smith joined her onstage. The Cure frontman performed “Friday I’m in Love” and “Just Like Heaven” with Rodrigo, two songs that carry their own weight, but felt recharged in this new context. Later, she posted a photo wearing a Cure T-shirt, a quiet nod to a collaboration that clearly meant something to her.
This kind of intentional choice has shown up in her recent run of shows. At Hyde Park, she made an unannounced appearance during Ed Sheeran’s set, joining him for an acoustic version of “The A Team.” In Dublin, she covered Fontaines D.C.’s “I Love You”, a surprising move, considering the band’s sound sits outside her usual territory and they aren't mainstream yet.
Up next, Rodrigo’s summer slate remains packed with festival appearances across Europe and North America. On July 4, she'll headline Roskilde in Denmark, followed by Rock Werchter in Belgium on July 6, and NOS Alive in Portugal on July 10. She then hits Milan’s I-Days (July 15) before wrapping the European leg at Lollapalooza Paris on July 18. Looking ahead to North America, she’s set to close out July with a headlining performance at Lollapalooza in Chicago on July 31 and then Osheaga in Montreal on August 1.
