Yungblud Postpones U.K. Shows Due to Tonsillitis

Yungblud has postponed two of his U.K. tour dates as he deals with a recurring bout of tonsillitis. The British rocker announced the cancellation of his July 10 show in Dundee, Scotland, followed by the postponement of his July 11 concert in Liverpool, citing ongoing health concerns and medical advice from his doctor.
The cancellations come just weeks after the release of Idols, Yungblud’s fourth studio album and his first full-length project since 2022’s self-titled LP. While promoting the new record, the 27-year-old artist has been touring extensively across Europe, with plans to bring the show to North America later this summer.
In a series of messages shared via Instagram Stories, Yungblud expressed frustration and disappointment about having to cancel the two shows but assured fans the dates would be rescheduled. “My f*cking tonsillitis still hasn’t cleared up so I’m getting steroid treatment,” he wrote. “I have plans to get the f*ckers out as they’re a weak point for me, but I need to find some time as obviously we’ve been non-stop.”
Though Yungblud stated he still had the ability to sing, his doctor advised against performing to avoid risking long-term damage to his voice. “Please understand I hate letting you down,” he told fans. “I want to say f*ck it and just do it, but they said I could really do damage to my voice.” He emphasized that taking a break now was necessary to ensure his voice holds up for the remainder of the tour, which stretches well into the fall.
To soften the blow for disappointed fans in Liverpool, the artist, born Dominic Harrison, shared that he had prepaid for drinks at a local bar for ticket holders to enjoy in his absence. “If you go tomorrow night and show your ticket, you get a free drink on me,” he wrote. “I know some of you have traveled.” He encouraged fans to gather, celebrate, and play his music, even though he couldn’t be there in person. “At least you can be together and celebrate each other, as that’s what Yungblud is all about,” he said.
Yungblud is expected to return to the stage next week for his scheduled shows in Bristol and Southampton, as long as his treatment continues to go as planned. He hinted that the postponed dates in Dundee and Liverpool will likely be folded into his arena tour scheduled for next year.
The artist has maintained a busy schedule in recent months. Alongside the release of Idols in June, Yungblud announced a new documentary directed by Paul Dugdale that chronicles the making of the album. Shot in Berlin, where much of the record was written and recorded, the film will offer a behind-the-scenes look at Yungblud’s creative process and personal evolution during the making of . The documentary is scheduled for limited theatrical release on August 20 and 24.
Looking ahead, Yungblud will embark on the North American leg of his tour beginning August 23 in Los Angeles. The run will include stops in major cities such as Chicago, New York, and Atlanta before concluding September 21 in Toronto. International dates are also on the books through the summer, as the artist continues to promote his latest album.
