Rod Stewart has postponed his Las Vegas residency performance at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, originally scheduled for June 1, due to illness. The news came just hours before showtime, with Stewart addressing fans directly on Instagram to explain the last-minute decision.

“I’m so sorry,” he wrote in a brief Story post, adding that he was not feeling well enough to perform but looked forward to being back onstage soon. The show has been rescheduled for June 10, and all tickets will remain valid for the new date.

At 80, Stewart is still performing at a pace most artists decades younger would struggle to keep up with. The Vegas residency is just one piece of a packed 2025 calendar that includes the U.K.’s Glastonbury Festival, where he’s slated to perform in the high-profile Legends slot later this month. That performance will also mark a much-anticipated reunion with former Faces bandmate Ronnie Wood, something fans have been hoping for for years.

The timing of the postponement is understandably disappointing, but not all that surprising considering Stewart’s recent schedule and past health challenges. In 2024, he canceled several shows due to strep throat and a COVID-19 infection. He bounced back quickly each time, showing the kind of resilience that’s defined his decades-long career.

This year also saw Stewart honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2025 American Music Awards, a moment that recognized both his enduring influence and his refusal to slow down. And while he’s dubbed his current run the “One Last Time” tour, Stewart has been clear that this isn’t a retirement.

Large-scale touring may be behind him after this year, but he’s already shared plans to pivot toward smaller, more personal shows. There’s talk of revisiting his Great American Songbook material in a more intimate setting or building out a tour based on Swing Fever, his recent collaboration project. In interviews, he’s expressed a real interest in performing for audiences in a more stripped-down, storyteller format, something that feels like a natural evolution for an artist.

Stewart’s choice to postpone rather than cancel the show altogether signals a clear commitment to his audience and the work itself. While last-minute changes are never ideal, especially in a city like Las Vegas, where many plan trips around performances, fans have responded with patience. Over the years, Stewart has built a reputation for following through, and even this brief delay hasn’t changed that.
