Paramount Studios announced that “Star Trek” will celebrate its 60th anniversary in 2026 with new programming, special events, and partnerships. The commemorations will begin January 1 with a float in the Rose Parade in Pasadena, California, and continue throughout the year under the theme “Space for Everybody.”

A highlight of the anniversary year will be the debut of Star Trek: Starfleet Academy on Paramount+. The series will follow a group of cadets as they begin training to join Starfleet, guided by Chancellor and U.S.S. Athena captain, played by Academy Award winner Holly Hunter. Paul Giamatti will appear as the season’s main antagonist. Other titles, including Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, will return with new seasons.

On “Star Trek” Day, Paramount introduced additional projects. Star Trek: Scouts, an animated preschool series, launched on YouTube, while Star Trek: Khan, a scripted podcast exploring Khan Noonien Singh’s backstory, premiered with Naveen Andrews voicing Khan and George Takei returning as Captain Sulu. New podcast episodes will be released weekly through November 3.

The Lego Group announced its first collaboration with the franchise, with sets to be revealed at a later date. Paramount also confirmed a digital comics partnership with Webtoon, aimed at reaching audiences worldwide. In addition, the youth organization DoSomething will partner with “Star Trek” for Boldly Go Green, a campaign focused on environmental projects linked to the anniversary.

Fans can also join Star Trek: The Cruise in February 2026, a weeklong voyage featuring William Shatner, Walter Koenig, and more than 20 actors from across the series. A new website, StarTrek.com/60, will provide updates on events, merchandise, and fan opportunities throughout the anniversary year.

Since its 1966 debut, “Star Trek” has become a cultural landmark with 11 television series, 14 films, and more than 900 episodes. Created by Gene Roddenberry, the franchise continues to explore themes of discovery and inclusion while expanding across television, film, podcasts, publishing, and live experiences.
