For nearly a decade, Lisa has been one of the most visible performers in the world. As a member of BLACKPINK, she helped redefine what global success looks like in K-pop, breaking records, headlining festivals, and becoming a fashion ambassador in the process. But now, as she enters a new chapter, the spotlight turns inward.

Lisa is the subject of a forthcoming documentary announced this week during Sony Music Vision’s inaugural content showcase in Los Angeles. The film will be directed by Sue Kim, the Emmy-nominated documentarian known for The Speed Cubers and The Last of the Sea Women, both praised for their quiet intimacy and emotional intelligence.

The project is being developed by Lisa’s own company, LLOUD, in partnership with RCA Records, Tremolo Productions, Salt Water Productions, and Sony Music Vision. It will chronicle a year of creative and personal transformation, following Lisa as she steps into a more self-defined role as an artist.

That journey includes the making of Alter Ego, her first solo studio album, as well as her critically noted solo performances at Coachella and the Victoria’s Secret fashion show. It also captures her upcoming acting debut in season three of HBO’s The White Lotus, where she joins an ensemble cast in one of television’s most discussed series.

Unlike the polished performance footage or behind-the-scenes glimpses fans are used to, the documentary aims to offer a more grounded portrayal of Lisa. It promises to explore the spaces between the stages: the moments of uncertainty, creative risk, and growth that come with stepping out of a group identity and into one’s own.

BLACKPINK, while still intact as a group, has seen each member take time for individual exploration since 2023. A world tour is planned for 2025, but in the meantime, projects like this allow fans to connect with the members in new ways. Though a release date has not yet been announced, anticipation is already high.
