Blink-182 launched their latest trek, the cheekily named “Missionary Impossible Tour,” with a setlist that made longtime fans feel like they had traveled back in time. At the tour opener in Hollywood, Florida on Thursday night, the pop-punk veterans dusted off several deep cuts from Take Off Your Pants and Jacket, songs that had not been performed live since the album’s initial run more than two decades ago.

For the first time since 2001, the band played Take Off Your Pants and Jacket staples “Roller Coaster” and “Online Songs.” Both tracks were part of the record’s original supporting tour but had quietly disappeared from the setlists in the years since. Their reemergence underscored the group’s willingness to dive deeper into their extensive catalog rather than relying solely on greatest hits. According to Setlist.fm, the Florida show marked a rare moment for fans who have waited over 20 years to hear those songs live again.

The night’s surprises didn’t stop there. Blink-182 also revived “Josie,” a beloved track from their 1997 album Dude Ranch. While the band last played the song in 2018, the Hollywood performance marked the first time it was performed with guitarist Tom DeLonge in nearly a decade. DeLonge’s departure in 2015 and eventual return in 2022 gave the moment extra weight, signaling a return to the chemistry that first defined the group’s rise in the late 1990s.

Another unexpected addition to the setlist was “Wishing Well,” pulled from 2011’s Neighborhoods. The band had last performed the track in 2016, but DeLonge had not played it live with Blink since 2014, prior to his extended absence.

Fans were also treated to a nod to Blink-182’s influences when the band resurrected their cover of “Hope” by Southern California punk pioneers Descendents. That cover hadn’t been featured in a Blink set for more than 20 years, making its inclusion one of the night’s most striking surprises.

The “Missionary Impossible Tour” stretches through early October, with Alkaline Trio serving as the opening act throughout the run. The pairing is particularly symbolic: Alkaline Trio frontman Matt Skiba spent years as DeLonge’s replacement in Blink-182, helping the band continue to tour and record during his absence. Now, with DeLonge firmly back in the fold, fans are seeing both eras of the band represented, past and present coexisting in real time.

Alongside headlining arena shows, Blink-182 will appear at several major festivals, including Riot Fest in Chicago. Their September 20 set at Riot Fest is expected to be a highlight of the festival’s 20th anniversary edition.

The tour arrives on the heels of One More Time…, the band’s 2023 album and their first with DeLonge since his 2022 reunion with Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker. That record carried both nostalgia and fresh energy, reconnecting the band’s legacy with new material that spoke to their endurance as a trio.
